hi-shine spent most of his life as a performer, dancing and singing his way to prestige during cybertron's golden age. he's pretty awkward off stage though, and has all the social skills of a handful of lizards. he accidentally sabotages his career by not realizing that he's pissed off several senators by asking too many questions about their more conservative policies, and has to flee cybertron entirely.

speakeasy finds him stumbling around, dirty and hungry but still very fancy, outside the junk colony, and leads him to safety. it's hard for him to get used to low class junk life, and he gets upset pretty easy, but it turns out that speakeasy is pretty adept at soothing him, and most of the colonists are pretty accepting of his quirks.

eventually, the two of them manage to gather enough supplies to open up a bar together. from there on, the two are nearly inseparable.

also, he turns into a train, so he's pretty tall.
